Make sure you are organized well. Don’t have the hassle of searching for travel essentials for every trip. Try buying a type of plastic bin and keeping all the traveling items in a single spot. Even a tote kept in a specific place can be a great place to store travel essentials.

Melt a bucket of ice if you want to have fresh water for morning coffee. Tap water rarely tastes good, so place ice in the bucket for overnight melting. You can also brew tasty coffee in the morning.
Bring a few cookies sheets with you when going on a road trip in which your children will be with you. These sheets will be for the kids to play cards on or color in coloring books. If you are travelling with little kids, think about bringing magnetic toys like educational numbers and letters.
If taking a plane trip, bring snacks. Fresh snacks can include apples, strawberries or grapes, and will provide a welcome change from the airplane meals that weigh you down. Not only will it save you money when it comes to pricey airport fare, it can also be a conversation starter as travel neighbors see your goodies.
Carry an extra passport photo. If you manage to lose your passport, you will lose time trying to replace it. You can speed up the process by having an extra passport photo available. Also, keep any extra documentation you would need to get your passport replaced quickly.
To make sure your flight won’t be delayed, take a flight early in the day. Airports are usually pretty full, so if one gets delayed, the one after may get delayed as well since it must wait for those gates to open. The first flight during the morning is very limited with delays.
Make sure the room you get is on a high level of the place you will be staying. Rooms on the ground level have a tendency to be targeted by thieves more often as they offer easier access. Request a room without sliding doors. Sliding glass doors are, unfortunately, quite easy for thieves to get open.
