Have a green vacation by choosing services that are environmentally friendly. A number of hotels have linen reuse programs, recycling bins, energy efficient lights, low flow plumbing, alternative sources of energy and so on. When you know where to look, you can find many ways to stay green when you are on the road.
Consider alternate modes of travel, such as trains, buses and subways. Many bus lines have package deals to make it even easier. You can get great deals on clean buses, and some of them even have free Wi-Fi and other perks. You can find package deals from some lines to make your travel planning a cinch.
When traveling internationally, use bottled water. Some countries do not purify or distill their water, and as a result it is rich in dangerous bacteria. Always use bottled water when brushing your teeth. This is one subtle way that tap water can make you sick.
When you are traveling, make sure you take along a blanket and pillow. A comfortable pillow and blanket is always something that can make a trip more pleasurable. Sometimes airlines provide these, but they frequently run short. Bringing your own along gives you peace of mind.
Don’t be stingy when tipping. Give the steward a nice tip when you first board the ship. Because certain crew members will serve you throughout the cruise, they are sure to take good care of you if they think you are planning to be generous.
